Military Logistics Summit

September 13-16

Washington DC Area

In sending 30,000 reinforcements into Afghanistan while reducing American forces in Iraq by 50,000, American commanders are orchestrating one of the largest movements of troops and materiel since World War II.

The complexity of logistics operations on land, in the air, and by sea has never been more challenging.  Commanders are relying on the expertise of the logistics community to ensure the rapid and safe transportation of supplies, troops, and weapons through dangerous territories.

President Obama has demanded that “our troops have the resources, support, and equipment they need to protect themselves and fulfill their mission.”  The President’s strategy to invest in a 21st Century military relies on the Logistics Community’s capacity to equip, sustain, and support a globally deployed force.

IDGA’s Military Logistics Summit 2010 provides you with updated DoD mission priorities and the information you need to support major deployment, re-deployment, and distribution operations.  The event will bring together the thought leaders and decision-makers in logistics, sustainment, and readiness operations to discuss the latest implementation strategies and program initiatives to ensure the flexibility and preparedness of our military’s future.

Critical issues to be discussed this year include:

*      How changing regional priorities will affect all aspects of the defense transportation network

*      Enhancing combat unit readiness through more effective supply chain management and optimization processes

*      Executing performance based lifecycle product support for more efficient and cost-effective sustainment

*      Major acquisition priorities for essential logistics and transportation capabilities

The Administration has re-committed to vital peacekeeping and civil military affairs in Afghanistan and pledged to support troop movement by increasing resources for transportation, logistics, and supplies.  IDGA’s Military Logistics Summit 2010 will provide you with the details you need to know now to ensure global DoD mission success.
